1. Creating spaces with a CSV

A space has 2 properties:

  1. It's name.
The name is visible to all (students, educators and others...)
  2. it's key.
The key is visible on the admin dashboard only and is the unique identifier of the space. It needs to be unique and of minimum 6 characters (letters or numbers).

The space CSV should therefore be made of two columns: name & key.

2. Importing and creating users with a CSV

A user has 3 properties:

  1. A first name.
  2. A last name.
  3. An email address.
The email address is the unique identifier of the user and is also the email the user is going to use to access Aula.

The user CSV should therefore be made of three columns: firstname, lastname & email.

Exporting CSVs from Excel / Google Sheets / Numbers

Excel:

Once your spreadsheet is ready (and you made sure there is no other content than the content entered in the columns needed).
Head to File > Save As > In the Save as type field, select .csv > Save

Google Sheets:

Once your spreadsheet is ready (and you made sure there is no other content than the content entered in the columns needed).
Head to File (right below the sheet's title) > Download as > Comma-separated values

Numbers:

Once your spreadsheet is ready, there is a small trick to make sure the CSV is well formatted: Make sure there is no extra empty columns and rows, this seems to alter the formatting of the CSV.

Then head to File > Export to > CSV
